I first visited this place when it initially opened several years ago, but the food wasn't great back then, so I didn't return until yesterday. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the food has improved! I ordered the seafood soup and the combination bowl to share with my husband. The broth in the seafood soup was flavorful, but the squid was overly chewy and hard to swallow. The soup also included seafood meatballs and shrimp, but that was it for the seafood selection. I would have liked a greater variety or higher-quality squid. The combination bowl was good but felt pretty standard, similar to what I've had at other Vietnamese restaurants. While the food was overall enjoyable, it didn't stand out as a must-visit spot for Vietnamese cuisine. Another drawback is the pricing--each bowl is almost $20, and boba drinks are nearly $8, which is quite expensive. That said, I will likely return at some point because the flavors have improved, and our server was very sweet, but the high prices will keep me from coming back too often.
On a cold day nothing hits like noodle soup. I'm trying to try all of the pho restaurants in the Santa Rosa area. Flavor wise Kettles didn't disappoint. Broth was really rich and flavorful. Meat wasn't the highest quality but it was still tasty. I did have to say the portions are the smallest out of everywhere I tried and the price was the highest. This wouldnt be my first choice for getting pho but at the same time i wouldn't be disappointed if I came here again.
Fire. Thank you for being in business in Santa Rosa. We love your oxtail broth, it come to clutch as medicine
The hot clay pot chicken with ginger is my go to, always flavorful and satisfying on a cool day. Service has always been good, friendly and food comes out quickly and piping hot. The ambiance is nice but could use a refresh. Being next to a busy road can make it a challenge to enter the lot so use caution.
Loved the pho combination bowl. My fiance has the short ribs & he loved it. We are definitely coming back. The service was excellent.
Went for dinner for 2 and we had their spring rolls, bun bo hue, and seafood egg noodle soup. Flavor on the seafood noodle soup was a little on the light side but bun bo hue was good and had a lot of beef slices in it. Mild and not too spicy. Egg rolls were good. Sometimes places stuff their rolls with noodles to make it look bigger but here it was a good ratio of protein to noodles to veggie. Service was friendly. Ambiance is casual and relaxed. They have cute lights in the patio. I think the dishes were a bit on the pricey end and portion size slightly on the smaller end. Just enough for me with the shared appetizer although bf was still hungry but we didn't feel like ordering more at the time. Overall I think the flavor was good and def worth a try.
I have drove by kettles probably a thousand times and never thought about stopping by, due to the location. Well as the old saying goes, don't judge a book by its cover. After a couple worker said it's a good place for pho I stopped by for dinner and this is my new favorite place for pho. The service was great, the waitress stopped several times to ask how the meal was and to ask if I needed a refill on my soda. I got the beef combination pho, and it was absolutely delicious, I will definitely be back now I have found my new favorite place to go!! Also inside was very clean and had a great feel to it
Hubby and I were looking for nice intimate setting to celebrate our babymoon and discovered this restaurant. I ordered the Pork & Seafood Pho. The rice noodle is the BEST I ever had and the steamed pork, etc is very flavorful as well! Broth could use more flavor. After trying a spoonful of hubby's 5 star worthy Combination Pho, I loved his, so I will be ordering that next time! I would definitely recommend this small Vietnamese business that opened in 2012! They have sweet staff and nice dining areas for date nights and get togethers! We're looking forward to returning to try more of their varied menu! SYOY! :-) *Song Credit: Sour Soup by Jeff Kaale
We dined at this restaurant after a Graton Casino visit. We were blown away with their big selections on the menu. Finally a Vietnamese restaurant with lots of choices plus they have a variety of boba drinks. They have a full bar and the restaurant is warmly decorated. Servers are friendly and fast. Servers are a mixed nationality. We ordered several entrees: reviews based 1 out of 5 scoring Grilled Pork Spring Roll: 5, fresh and delicious Salt and Pepper Calamari: 5, flavorful Pork Belly Skewers: 2, disappointed, small portion, lacked flavor, presentation needs more work Combination PHO: 5, Very Good Shaking Beef: 5, Tender beef with lots of flavor Taiwanese Boba: 5, they offer level of sugar, I like mine 50% ** Note: They use too much cilantro as a garnish. ** Highly recommend this restaurant if you're in the area.
Came in with my boyfriend on a weekday for lunch and they weren't too busy so we were seated immediately. The hostess and waitstaff were extremely friendly and attentive, which is definitely part of the reason I give this place a high rating. The eggroll appetizer came out hot and crispy; really nice texture and pretty good flavor. I ordered the chicken banh mi and my boyfriend got the BBQ pork banh mi. We both agreed that the chicken was better than the pork, so I'd recommend chicken if you're deciding between proteins. To me, the pork just wasn't as flavorful. The bread had a pretty soft texture but it was fluffy (not chewy). It could've been a little crispier in my opinion but it was still good. Overall good balance of flavors and ingredients in the sandwich, so a pretty solid banh mi. I will say though that compared to prices I'm used to, this was quite a bit more expensive ($12) for this kind of sandwich.
